For decades, the Friends sold used books at an annual 2-day event in April, raising ~$20,000 for the Friends to give to the library. In addition to our giant Main Sale in the Williamstown Elementary School gymnasium, we took bids for unusual and unique books at a Silent Auction and sold coffee, lunch, and treats at the Book Sale Cafe. Our inventory came from a steady flow of donated books and media that got sorted and categorized by volunteers. Many more volunteers were enlisted in the week of the sale to set up the gym, unpack the books, bake and cook, and run the event. We thank the community for its generosity in making this event possible year after year and helping us embrace the spirit of Earth Day by finding new homes for used books.
